McDonald’s Corp. has developed a new chicken tender with an accompanying “signature sauce”.  The new menu item is being tested in Charlotte, NC and is intended to compete with a similar menu item offered by Chick-fil-A, the acknowledge market leader in the category.

Even if the product is equivalent in texture, taste and value, Chick-fil-A® has acknowledged superiority in terms of consumer perception of store cleanliness, staff friendliness and other attributes as revealed in a recent national survey of QSRs.


The McDonald’s buttermilk tenders will be offered with a biscuit for $2.69.  According to Chef Michael Haracz, Manager of Culinary Innovations at McDonald’s “We will continue our food journey by listening to our customers.  We know people love chicken tenders and we are committed to creating great-tasting food with quality ingredients and testing innovations for our customers”.
